Join in with our Kooriez-space group
Kooriezspace is a culture-based health and well-being program for Aboriginal teenagers in the Frankston and Mornington Peninsula area. It is a three-way program run between headspace, Willum Warrain and Nairm Marr Djambana. Three times a term local youth come to our Gathering Place and are taught Aboriginal culture through doing. Our young people have done paintings, made clap sticks, carved out shield designs in trees, created a Bunjil geoglyph and made decorations based on language for the NAIDOC Ball. They have also heard traditional stories around a fire. We are very keen for our youth to grow up strong in culture.
