Project Description
Willum Warrain operates a men’s group which meets 3 or 4 times a term, on weekends and weeknights according to needs. The focus of our fellas is cultural practice and camaraderie. We usually have a few laughs, a feed and share cultural knowledge with each other. It is a good space for Aboriginal men to come together in a spirit of friendship. We are always on the lookout for new fellas. Just ring up and find out when our next meeting is on.
P.S. Our main project at the moment is building a stone and timber dome hut at the Gathering Place (see photos). It has involved using local granite rocks for the base and blackwood and black wattle saplings for uprights and walls and using lomandra rope to tie down the frame.
(Willum Warrain appreciates the generous support of Gandel Philanthropy in running its men’s group)
